Lotus, one of our favorite bands, has hit the road on a mini-tour, releasing subsequent dates that will take them to the end of 2013, where they will celebrateLotus930DC12' New Years by playing 2 nights at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia, PA. But before Lotus and their fans celebrate another amazing year, which was filled with sold out club shows, packed festival sets, and the release of a long awaited experimental hip-hop album, the band will head to one of the premier rock clubs in the country–The 9:30 Club in Washington, DC.

It’s not so much an opinion as it is a fact that the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC’s U Street Corridor is one of the best clubs in the country. Consider the following moments of prestige: It was named by Pollstar as “Night Club of the Year”. Billboard.com (Billboard Touring Awards) honored the venue with its Top Club award from 2007 to 2012, the only year it did not win being 2008, when the ‘Top Club’ award was not presented. RollngStone.com has even gone so far as to name The 9:30 Club, “the #1 Big Room in America” over such venues as Radio City Music Hall, The Fillmore in San Francisco, and Stubbs in Austin Texas.
