The Motet Annual Halloween Run – Mixtape 1975

MOTET

Trick or Treat? If you’re in Colorado for Halloween, you’re most definitely in for a treat. The progressive funk collective, The Motet brings its annual Halloween run along the Front Range from October 28th to November 3rd. Each year, the band performs music that pays tribute to some of their favorite funk influences, whether a full album, or a “mixtape” of songs that are popular during a certain year. For 2014, the selected theme is “Mixtape 1975” which was teased at their sold out Red Rocks show with Umphreys McGee.

The Motet always brings with them world class talent, carefully executed compositions, and a stage full of fun. The energy that comes with the band and the amount of time and effort put into these songs is like no other. I have been lucky enough to attend this run a few times and always wonder how they are going to outdo the previous year. Without a doubt, they do, leading this band to be one of the most anticipated Halloween dance parties in Colorado.

Hopefully you’ve got your hands on a ticket to the Halloween show in Boulder, because it has been SOLD OUT! But don’t fret – you will have four more chances to catch this act which is surely one you don’t want to miss! They will be jamming along the Front Range, so get your tickets now and join the celebration!
