A funky Halloween with Lotus

Lotus took the stage at The Met in Morgantown, WV for their Halloween show on 10.31.2013. The event was billed as Lotus Presents: Lotus and the Funktastrophe – a Funkified Funkaween.
The performance—which was live audio-streamed via Phoncert—included a couple of debut covers during the first set, including renditions of Earth, Wind and Fire’s “Shining Star†and Thomas Dolby’s “Blinded Me With Science.†In a rare move, the latter song also featured percussionist Chuck Morris on vocals.
The second set also had some interesting moments. A take on Kanye West’s “Monster†(rare vocals by Luke Miller) that was sandwiched between a jammed out “Hammerstrike.†The second set also contained a raucous “Flower Sermon†to end the show.
